Pop-Up Show in Fountain Square First Friday August 4th

Stop by the former auto filling station at 1034 Virginia Ave right across from the "You Are Beautiful" sign on the Murphy Building in good ol' Indianapolis' Fountain Square neighborhood on Friday August 4th from 5:30pm - 11pm for a pop-up show of small original works and new paintings on reclaimed industrial silkscreen frames by artist Taylor Smith. These original unique silkscreen frame paintings will be discounted Friday only for this one-time pop-up event.

Taylor's series of paintings featuring iconic Pop Culture imagery, abstract post-modern flower paintings and chemical still life works are painted on the very worn silkscreen frames that she has used to create her art for many years. Instead of painting on canvas, each new piece of art is painted directly onto an old reclaimed screen frame that has been used hundreds of times to create her art over the years. There is a palpable sense of use and history to these pieces, which have lived many lives over the decades. By adding a new piece to your collection, you are actually adding many other artworks as well which were created with these screens.

Taylor's studio will also be open on the 3rd floor at the Stutz Building from 5pm-9pm  in addition to the pop-up shop in Fountain Square. Hope to see you Friday evening!
